Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much do you charge?
    Please contact us for more details on pricing for the different services.
  • Do you travel to clients?
    Yes, but only for parties of 3 or more people. Travel is also subject to a fee based on distance, tolls, etc.
  • Which payment methods does MakeupByVani accept?
    Acceptable types of payment include Venmo and Zelle quickpay.
  • Are deposits required?
    Yes, at least 50% of the total amount is required to secure your date and time. Deposits are not refundable; this includes any deposit amount exceeding the minimum/required 50%.
  • What is required to secure my appointment?
    50% deposit of total amount Signed contract
  • Are trials available?
    Yes, trials are available to clients seeking bridal services. Please note that there is a separate fee for trial services.
  • Will my trial fee apply to my bridal services?
    No. Trial fees are exclusive of bridal services and may not be applied to them.
  • Are packages available?
    Yes. Packages are only available for bridal services.
  • Do you offer group discounts?
    Group discounts are not offered.
  • How many people can you accommodate?
    I can accommodate up to 8 services. Hair OR makeup is considered one (1) service. One service (hair OR makeup) is usually 45 mins to 1 hour.
  • Why are bridal services more expensive?
    I have to ensure my brides look absolutely perfect on such a special occasion. Extra special attention is given to brides for their big day and requires more time and consideration compared to regular makeup services.
  • How should I prep my face and/or hair?
    Makeup: Wash your face utilizing your regular skincare routine. ​ Hair: Wash your hair the night before. Do not apply any products. If you have thick/coarse/curly hair, please blow dry it straight before your appointment.
  • How far in advance can I make an appointment/booking?
    If you are intersted in bridal services, appointments/bookings are accepted up to 2 years in advance. For all other services (hair & makeup, hair only, makeup only), appointments/bookings are accepted only 1 month in advance.
  • What if I need to cancel?
    In the event you need to cancel, you must do so at least 7 days prior to your appointment. Failing to do so, you will be liable for the full amount of the contract. Any amounts deposited are not refundable, even if you cancel 7 or more days in advance.
  • What products do you use?
    A variety of products are used from the following companies: ​ Morphe | MAC | NARS | Anastasia | Huda Beauty | Fenty | Estée Lauder | Lancôme | Urban Decay | and many more.
  • Do I need any makeup products the day of my event after you leave?
    I strongly recommend purchasing a lip product and blotting powder or film (for extremely oily skin) to retouch.
  • How long will each service take?
    Bridal Services: 3 hours including hair, makeup, and dressing Makeup Services: 45 minutes - 1 hour (depending on style) Hair services: 45 minutes - 1 hour (depending on style)
  • Can I bring guests to my appointment?
    Yes, you may bring up to two (2) additional guests. I prefer no children during your appointment so that I can work comfortably. If you must bring your children, they MUST be accompanied by another adult at all times; or you will be liable for additional fees.
  • Do you offer 1-on-1 classes?
    No, currently we do not offer 1-on-1 classes.
